Guided Math with Laney Sammons

Laney Sammons

Sometimes the best connections are serendipitous.

In 2014, we invited Laney Sammons to come to Winston-Salem for a one-day Guided Math presentation. We were fortunate to spend some quality time with her during this visit. During our conversations we realized we had a common interest in best practices for teaching and learning. Laney later invited Hope and Alice to her home in Vermont to discuss ways to collaborate on this important work. The next year, Laney Sammons officially selected ERG to provide professional development based on the Guided Math framework. We’ll let Laney tell the rest of the story.

When I made the decision to retire from consulting, I could not have found a better group to provide continuing professional development based on the Guided Math framework than Education Resource Group.

Their highly-qualified coaches, all of whom I have trained, know the ins and outs of Guided Math implementation and, perhaps even more importantly, are highly skilled at providing the teacher support needed to make implementation a success. In addition, they are professional, personable, and truly a pleasure to work with.

  • Demonstration lessons of small group instruction
  • Observations and feedback support sessions
  • Collaboration structures, such as focus walks and debriefs
